Afiado Typeface DesignDecember 2021
This typeface was a project for one of my first graphic design classes. I was told to pick my favorite food and then use inspiration from that food to create an original typeface. I decided to choose crab legs as my food of choice. This is because I have loved it since I was a child and also was intrigued by the sharp edges and interesting shapes made by the legs. I named this typeface Afiado. It is a Portuguese word that translates to “sharp.” The images below will show the font in use and its parameters.
